Abraham prefers to stay in Rome
Roma striker Tammy Abraham is said to be happy in Italy, despite reported interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.
The England international ended his first season in the Italian capital with 27 goals, 17 of them in Serie A. Only three players – Ciro Immobile, Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez – have moved ahead of former league leaders Chelsea.
The interest in the 24-year-old might come as little surprise given his goalscoring exploits. However, manager Jose Mourinho is keen to keep the striker, while a clause in Abraham’s contract could make things even more complicated for English teams.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia), Abraham’s happiness in Roma isn’t the only thing that makes a stay at the Stadio Olimpico the likeliest outcome. Moreover, his agent Neil Fewings would earn more the longer the striker stays with the Giallorossi – more specifically, €400,000 for each transfer window that closes with Abraham staying put.
