Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to sign Antony from Ajax this summer which could see Tottenham Hotspur rivals Manchester United in a race to sign the Brazil international.
Antony, 22, netted 12 direct goals in Ajax’s title-winning campaign last season and Erik ten Hag has been linked with signing a range of players he guided to Amsterdam.
However, despite United’s interest, Spurs believe they could hold the key to bringing Antony to the Premier League. Reliable journalist fabrice romano reported that Dutchman Steven Bergwijn is being targeted by Ajax, with a deal a real possibility.
Steven Bergwijn’s deal between Ajax and Tottenham is absolutely done, all parties are in contact – but it’s not fully agreed yet. 🇳🇱 #THFC
Bergwijn, Ajax’s priority since January. Tottenham, still open for sale on their terms. #Ajax

We have reported on ‘initial talks’ between United and Antony’s entourage this summer, it remains to be seen if the club will take a further step towards signing the player. This means making a formal offer before it’s too late.
Meanwhile, The Independent’s Miguel Delaney suggests Spurs are ready to offer the 24-year-old as part of a swap deal.
That will appeal to Ajax, who already want Bergwijn, but the Dutch giants could hold their own and get more money from a deal with United – given Ten Hag have enough funds to spend.
Tottenham have already had an impressive summer after signing Yves Bissouma from Brighton, however, I don’t mind missing out on a player who is still under investigation for sexual assault, according to The Athletic.
Only time will tell if this is a blow to Ten Hag and United, but a right winger should be on our priority list.
