Tottenham have reportedly set their sights on Lens defender Jonathan Clauss, who has already been linked with Chelsea this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs have offered alternative full-back targets in case they fail to sign Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.
The report claims the Lens Clauss right-back is someone of interest to Antonio Conte’s Spurs.
It comes after much speculation that Chelsea were ready to bid for the 29-year-old.
It has been reported that the Blues have been given the green light to go ahead and try to sign Clauss, with Lens already signing their potential replacement. Apparently, Chelsea could now try to complete a £10million deal after initial contact.

It looks like Chelsea face new competition in their summer hunt.
Clauss, who has been included in the Ligue 1 squad of the season for two consecutive years, is looking at a bargain at £10million.
He’s a right-back who is dangerous going forward, scoring five goals and making 11 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions last season for Lens.
The four-capped France international is a player on the rise who is well deserving of a big transfer.
His specialist role as a winger means he could fit seamlessly into the Chelsea or Spurs XI, with both preferring to play a system with three centre-backs and full-backs.
In all honesty, you have to say that the chances of Clauss going straight into a starting line-up next season seem much more likely at Spurs than at Stamford Bridge. The difficulty in convincing a right-back to join the Blues makes them believe that they will probably play understudy for Reece James.
