Hello football fans
It was a busy day on Monday with Premier League clubs busy in the transfer market.
West Ham have confirmed the signing of Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd for £30million,
The left-handed defender is ‘excited’ to play for the East London club.
He said: “I was really excited when I heard about the interest from West Ham.
“When I heard about it, I knew I had to go to the Premier League because it’s a dream for all players.
“West Ham is a historic club. I saw a few of their games this year, and I saw the fans and the atmosphere was fantastic, with the bubbles!
“I spoke with the manager and he showed me that he was very interested, so it was easy to choose to come to West Ham.”
At Stamford Bridge, Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan on loan is delayed by the Italian club’s president.
Chelsea are keen to settle Lukaku’s situation after the club-record signing struggled to deliver results.
Lukaku played some of his best football at the San Siro, helping Inter win the 2020/21 Scudetto.
However, Inter president Steven Zhang has reportedly balked at the proposed loan/salary fee, according to The Athletic.
Arsenal are reportedly closing in on signing Gabriel Jesus.
The Gunners previously saw a bid of around £30million for the Brazilian striker rejected.
But Goal report they will return to Manchester City with an improved offer.
While still not matching the champions valuation of £50m, the second offer is likely to include performance-related add-ons which could drive up the overall price and should be accepted.
