Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Sevilla defender Joules Kounde, according to The Mirror.
The France international, who has a £76m transfer release clause, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium this summer, with Chelsea and Barcelona both keen to secure his signature.
Tottenham have reportedly edged out Chelsea in the race for the centre-half after the Stamford Bridge side set their sights on Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
Ligue 1 giants PSG are also admirers of the 23-year-old, however, the player would prefer a move to England.
It seems unlikely that Tottenham are ready to compete financially with Chelsea and PSG for Koundé, as they haven’t broken the bank in an attempt to land Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol.
Kounde is more likely to end up at Barcelona, with Tottenham deciding to bide his time for either Bastoni or Gvardiol next summer.
