The second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals between Real Madrid and Chelsea is scheduled for Tuesday. Los Blancos retain the lead after their emphatic 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge last week, with superstar striker Karim Benzema scoring his second hat-trick in his last two UCL games. A loss of one goal or better will be enough for Real to return to the semi-finals, while the defending champions need to win by two goals just to force extra time. Here are our scenarios, how you can watch the game and more:
How to watch and odds
- Date: Tuesday April 12 | Weather: April 12, 2022
- Location: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu — Madrid, Spain
- Television and live broadcast: CBS and Paramount+
- Odds: Real Madrid +140; Draw +245; Chelsea +190 (via Caesars Sportsbook)
Real Madrid: Former Chelsea player Eden Hazard remains out due to the fibula crack. But the big absence is that of central defender Eder Militao. He picked up a yellow in the first leg, resulting in a suspension for accumulation of cards. So expect to see Nacho alongside David Alaba.
Chelsea: Once again, the Blues are in good form apart from the long-term absence of Ben Chilwell due to a ruptured cruciate ligament. The big decision ahead for Thomas Tuchel is how to mount his team in attack. They’ve barely used Romelu Lukaku lately but having the Belgian in the middle could give them a lifeline back in the draw. It will be an attacking formation, but we will have to see how hard to attack. Christian Pulisic scored for Real last season in the semi-finals.
With all the momentum, Real put Chelsea away with Benzema scoring again. To take: Real Madrid 2, Chelsea 1
