England international Kalvin Phillips has signed a six-year contract with Manchester City from Leeds United and has expressed his desire to start in particular with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
The deal is worth £45million and the midfielder who spent eight years at his boyhood club Leeds spoke to Mancity.com about his thoughts on Haaland who also joined the Premier League champions during this transfer window.
The striker joined for a fee of £51m after scoring 20 goals in 23 league appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season.
“He’s an amazing player. His goalscoring record speaks for itself, his finishing is amazing. He played in a team that did well too when he was there,” the 26-year-old said .

Phillips also explained how he knew Haaland due to his international obligations.
“I know he’s supposed to be a nice guy because Jude Bellingham told me a lot about him.
“I think he’ll just come into the league and hit where he left off with Dortmund, hopefully we’ll score some early goals and then he’ll fly from there,” Phillips said.
That will certainly be the hope of Manchester City supporters as well as Phillips who starts well in a light blue shirt.
