Celtic have much to be happy about right now. The Hoops are coming off a brilliant season in which they completed an unlikely Premiership and League Cup double. It was Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge of a top European club and on top of that the odds were stacked against them after finishing without a trophy and 25 points behind Rangers last time out.
So Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to next season, including Champions League group stage football after years. But at the same time, the club also has its share of problems.
The biggest of them in recent years has been their failure to keep their youngsters, as clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and others have rushed in and signed them.
The last name on that list was Ben Doak. And now it looks like another Celtic youngster has caught the attention of clubs across Europe. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United are in the race to sign Rory Mahady. The 15-year-old is one of Europe’s hottest goalkeeper prospects and as a result there is no shortage of clubs trying to steer him away from Parkhead.
Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United want to sign Celtic player
Lately, whenever Southern clubs have laid their eyes on Celtic youngsters, more often than not they have been able to sign them.
As a result, if Mahady did end up leaving Celtic in the near future to join a big team across Europe, it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to many Hoops fans, although it would be a disappointment for sure.
It remains to be seen how things go around Mahady. On the other hand, Celtic have another highly rated young goalkeeper coming through their ranks at the moment in the form of Tobi Oluwayemi, who many believe can be a starter one day.
