Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano dropped a bombshell when he recently revealed that Paulo Dybala is set to leave Juventus as a free agent next summerreceiving the green light to open talks with other clubs to assess his next destination of choice.
This could potentially be good news for Manchester City, with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport previously claiming Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘keep an eye’ on his future.
With the Sky Blues’ apparent need for a goalscorer – and the 28-year-old nearing an exit at the end of the season – the latest reports from Italy have discussed whether the Premier League champions will revive their interest in the five-time Serie A. champion.
According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City would be ‘think carefully’ to make a move for Paulo Dybala next summer.
Other details suggest the Argentina international’s agent is ‘now in England’where he is set to assess which Premier League club would be open to signing the former Palermo striker.
Interestingly, it is mentioned that as things stand, City’s Champions League quarter-final opponents Atletico Madrid are the ‘favorites’ winning the race to sign Dybala.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone is said to be one of the main reasons for the Spanish club’s appeal for the potential transfer.

However, it was reiterated that this is not a ‘deal done’and the player and his team must bide their time before arriving at a final decision.
It should be noted that the Juventus striker fits the mold of a false nine, which would suit this current City side perfectly, given that they have performed well this season without the presence of a traditional striker.
On the other hand, it looks like Guardiola’s side will put all their eggs in the basket to secure Erling Haaland’s services before considering other alternatives, like Dybala.
