Man City step up pursuit of Saka, Reds ‘ready to make £43m bid for Gavi’, Bayern offer £30m transfer bid for Sadio Mane

Morning transfer news

Liverpool are said to be willing to meet Gavi’s release clause if they refuse to sign Barcelona to a new deal.

According to Sport, Jurgen Klopp’s side would pay the £50million release clause to sign the central midfielder.

However, it looks like Liverpool’s hopes are dwindling with the player set to commit his long-term future with Barca.

Meanwhile, SunSport have exclusively revealed how Inter Milan want to strike a salary-sharing deal with Chelsea to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Italy.

Serie A finalists keen to re-sign striker and end his frustrations at Stamford Bridge

But with bonus money they are likely to push for a loan which will also force Chelsea to pay part of his wages.

Inter are ready to shell out just over a third of Lukaku’s weekly salary of around £325,000.

In other news, Dan Ashworth is hoping to make Hugo Ekitike Newcastle’s first summer signing after finally starting work as Toon’s sporting director.

Ashworth, 51, will spearhead Newcastle’s summer spending, with a £25.6million debut deal already in place with Reims for young French striker Ekitike.

The 19-year-old rejected a move to Tyneside in January but is now keen on a move to the Premier League and the Newcastle project.

And finally, Tottenham are reportedly in the process of agreeing a deal for Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence.

His exceptional form on loan at Nottingham Forest has attracted the attention of many clubs such as Brentford, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Forest are also trying to strike a deal which will keep him at the club on a permanent basis.

But according to the Express, Tottenham are currently leading the transfer race for the star and will be advancing an offer in the coming weeks.
