Keane claims Man Utd as he predicts 2022/23 Premier League title winners

Man Utd legend Roy Keane has predicted his Premier League title winners for next season with Liverpool and Man City will fight for the title again.

Player recruitment has been quite impressive so far at most ‘Big Six’ clubs, with the race for a top-four spot becoming harder than ever to judge.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have all made impressive signings with rumors that there is more to come from the three clubs.

The most expensive new signings XI cost £470m and feature eight from the Premier League

But Keane doubts they can come close to Man City and Liverpool, who contested the title last season, before Pep Guardiola’s side finally win on the final day of the campaign.

“I don’t think they will close the gap,” Keane said Heaven bet. “I think they will get a bit better. They have the quality and the recruitment, but you can’t look past Liverpool and Man City.

Man Utd are fortunate to be the most improved team under new boss Erik ten Hag after a season disaster that saw them finish sixth in 2021/22.

The Red Devils finished 13 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, missing out on the Champions League and 35 points behind champions Man City.

But despite Ten Hag’s appointment and all rumors of summer additions, Keane doesn’t see Man Utd competing with Liverpool or City ‘just yet’.

Keane added: “The manager will definitely get some money to spend, how he recruits, four or five experienced players have left the club which I think is a good thing.

“But I still don’t see United competing with Liverpool and Manchester City, not yet.”

Man City propelled Liverpool to the Premier League title on a dramatic final day of last season and both teams signed new signings.

City lost Raheem Sterling to Chelseawhile Sadio Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich – but the additions of Erling Haaland to the Etihad and Darwin Nunez to Anfield should see another hotly contested title battle.

But Keane is backing City again, the Man Utd legend continued: “Brilliant players, they have obviously improved with an incredible striker. [Haaland] and they have one of Pep’s greatest managers [Guardiola].”
