Juventus were linked with a move for Nemanja Matic today as he prepares to leave Manchester United.
The Serb has been on the Red Devils’ books since joining them from Chelsea in 2017.
He has a contract with them until 2023, but he has already informed the club of his departure at the end of this season.
The 33-year-old is very experienced and would likely bring something different to the current Juve squad.
However, Tutomercatoweb claims the Bianconeri have no interest in adding the Serb to their squad.
He’s one of the most decorated players in the game, but he’s not one of their targets.
Juve FC says
We have brought in younger players as we build a team for the future. We could make a few exceptions to that, but the older player has got to be really worth it.
Matic just isn’t worth it at his age and there’s too much risk in adding him to our squad at this stage in his career.
When the transfer window reopens, there will be much younger midfielders available who will do a job at Juve.
We could also promote one of our budding youngsters to a permanent position in the first team.
