Tottenham: Reporter shares Ronnie Edwards transfer update -Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumors

The Daily Echo reporter Alfie House has shared a transfer update from Tottenham Hotspur involving Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye movement for Edwards…

The exciting teenager has been on Spurs’ radar for some time, as Peterborough club manager Barry Fry has revealed.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Posh chief said Edwards has been a player under Tottenham’s “long” eye with other clubs, including a “big” German team (via football.london).

According to the Daily Echo reporter, that interest hasn’t diminished as Spurs are said to be in talks over a move for the 19-year-old.

The Latest: House argues Edwards…

Take from TwitterHouse explained that Tottenham are one of the Premier League clubs that have “spoken” over Edwards, although there is nothing “concrete” in terms of a formal offer yet.

Sharing a corresponding report from The Daily Echo, he described: “On Ronnie Edwards, understand #SaintsFC interest is at a very early stage. The 19-year-old is expected to leave Peterborough this summer. Spurs, Villa, United and Palace have all spoken but nothing concrete yet. One that we will follow over the weeks.

Verdict: don’t hesitate…

Edwards stands out as one of England’s most promising talents, with his former manager Darren Ferguson even calling him ‘incredible’.

His addition would also solve a glaring problem at Spurs in terms of home quota, as well as ensuring they have secured another real talent for the future.

According to WhoScored, despite his young age, Edwards was one of Peterborough’s most reliable players in the Championship during the 2021/22 season, averaging a colossal 3.7 clearances per 90, the second highest of all their team members.

He certainly looks like a brilliant talent and Spurs should be aiming to get to the front of the line for him.
