Inter fined €20,000 after Champions League clash with Liverpool at San Siro, Italian media say

Inter have been fined €20,000 by UEFA for events in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie with Liverpool at the San Siro.

This according to the Italian media FCInterNewswhich report that the Nerazzurri are facing fines for fan fireworks during the game as well as blocking some exits in the stadium.

The atmosphere at San Siro during Liverpool’s Champions League visit was predictably intense, although in some respects the behavior of some supporters breached UEFA regulations.

For the lighting of fireworks, the Nerazzurri were fined €8,000, while blocking certain exits at certain times during the game resulted in a €12,000 fine, with regulations stating that all Exits must be clear at all times.

The club were notified of the fines through official UEFA channels earlier yesterday, with the association deciding the amounts after review.
