Tottenham target Lautaro Martinez is ‘one of the nicest players’ to watch in European football when it’s thriving, says Serie A pundit Conor Clancy.
The Argentina international has been one of Italy’s standout players in recent years, which has caught the attention of Tottenham and Arsenal.
What is the latest news regarding Martinez?
After scoring 74 goals in four seasons at Inter Milan, including 25 in his career this season, the striker, described as “elite‘ by former manager Fabio Radaelli, has established himself as one of Europe’s top leaders.
As a result, Tottenham were keen on his services when Nuno Espirito Santo was manager last summer and even agreed a fee with Inter of over £60m.
Despite interest from Spurs, Martinez signed a long-term contract less than three months later. But after playing some of the best football of his career under Antonio Conte, he is once again linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
According to the journalist Jacques TalbotFabio Paratici is a fan of the Argentine and even tried to strike a deal in January, meaning Martinez could still move this summer, especially with Conte hoping to finally bring in another striker to rival Harry Kane.
What did Clancy say about Martinez?
He told GIVEMESPORT: “I love him. Lautaro is one of the nicest players in Europe to watch when he’s on it. He’s comparable to Son. He’s not really a number nine or 10, he floats between those two positions .

What other strikers has Tottenham been linked with?
With Champions League football now assured, the summer promises to be an exciting one in North London.
But with games coming up at the start of next season, due to the World Cup, Tottenham simply need to sign another attacking player to ease Kane’s workload.
Spurs have been lucky in recent seasons that Kane has managed to keep himself in peak condition, but surely they can’t continue to take that risk.
And it looks like it probably won’t be again. According to Football.London, Spurs are interested in a host of forwards across Europe.
The report says Paratici have their eyes set on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak, Darwin Nunez and Patrick Schick, while the Telegraph believe Tottenham are close to battling Arsenal over Gabriel Jesus.
