Speaking to Italian outlet AIC after being named the 2020/21 Player of the Season (via Football Italia), the Belgian star has once again opened up about his time in Italy.

“The club [Inter] always supported us, just like the fans that I want to thank,” he said.

“Being ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo is something that doesn’t happen every day. For me, he’s one of the three best players in the history of football. He also took me to a different level because he does great things.

“I’m really happy to be included in the Serie A top XI last season. I want to thank everyone who voted for me and the team who helped me a lot, the manager and his staff. C was the team’s achievement and it’s an honor to be in the top 11.”
