Ryan Alebiosu is being targeted by both Blackburn and Bristol Rovers this summer, with Arsenal saying they are ready to listen to offers for their academy product.
The full-back spent the latter part of this season on loan with Crewe Alexander in Ligue 1 where he earned six appearances, and is now targeted for a move to the Championship.
The 20-year-old looks set to leave the club without making a senior appearance, but had been a bright spark for our Premier League 2 side earlier in the campaign, scoring one goal and five assists in 10 outings for our side. development.
Alebiosu is comfortable playing both sides of the defense but prefers to operate at right-back, a role he may well be destined for by the two Championship teams who currently line up with a full-back five on time current.
We have a number of young players who look set to break into the first team in the near future, but Alebiosu doesn’t seem as close as many, and now could be a good time to cash in on the youngster, although it wouldn’t hurt to include a buyout clause should he take first-team football in his stride for his new club.
I personally think we should push to include a buyback option in every academy product that leaves if they show mass potential because you can’t always gauge how far they might go once they will be exposed to senior football.
