Arsenal coaches expect the 18-year-old gem to break into the first team by 2023

Arsenal have several high caliber players coming through the ranks at Hale End and Charlie Patino is arguably one of the best.

Known for his technical ability and agility in midfield, the 18-year-old often played for older age groups at Arsenal.

Patino captained England Under-16s against Spain when he was just 14 years old.

At the same age, he made his debut for Arsenal’s Under-18s against Chelsea.

This season, Patino has been in and around Mikel Arteta’s first team and made two senior appearances.

The teenager made his first-team debut for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup clash with Sunderland and scored.

Mikel Arteta then gave Patino playing time in the FA Cup third round loss to Nottingham Forest.

Moreover, the youngster has made the bench four times this season.

“Excitement Rises”

Last month, FourFourTwo named Patino number 20 on their list of the 50 most exciting teenagers in world football.

Now Goal.com have followed suit, naming the Arsenal gem at number 28 on their 2022 NxtGn list.

Besides, the outlet claimed that the Gunners setup expects Patino to become an integral member of the first team by next year.

“Described as ‘the best player to ever walk through the doors of Hale End’, the excitement around Charlie Patino has been building at Arsenal for some time,” they wrote.

“The 18-year-old midfielder has already given Gunners fans a taste of his talent, having made his first-team debut with a goal in December.

“Barcelona are already interested in signing Patino, who is expected to become a key member of Mikel Arteta’s squad over the next 12-18 months.”

Arsenal gem can ‘really go to the top’ – Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand is a huge Patino fan and in January named him his young Premier League player to watch in 2022.

“Go to YouTube and watch his clips. It’s a joke what you see,” he told BT Sport (1/1; 11:42). “The talent he has. I spoke to people from Arsenal.

“And what they say about him about this kid, in terms of talent, he could potentially be the best of anyone that has come out in recent years.

“A very balanced kid, but who has the fundamentals in his game to really, really get to the top of the tree. I think he will have opportunities here.

“When you watch him, there’s a great way of playing, the balance, the rhythm. The fans will enjoy watching him.
