Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Erik ten Haag’s Manchester United will be paired with Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, according to The Independent.
The report claimed that Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United are both keen to sign Nunez from Benfica in the summer transfer window.
Benfica are reportedly seeking £100million for the 22-year-old Uruguay international striker.
The Independent added that although Nunez is in favor of a move to Liverpool, his side are ready to listen to what Manchester United have to say.
United are entering a new era under the management of Erik ten Haag.
Liverpool or Manchester United for Darwin Nunez?
In our opinion, Liverpool would be a better Manchester United option than Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
If Sadio Mane leaves Anfield then Nunez could just take his place in the squad.
The Benfica star mainly plays as a striker so he could operate centrally in a top three alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.
However, Nunez will need to be aware of the competition he will face at Liverpool.
Let’s not forget that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also has Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino at his disposal.
Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo is a figurehead at Manchester United, but he’s not getting any younger and Nunez could become the main man at Old Trafford.
Nunez scored 26 goals and provided four assists in the Portuguese league and scored six Champions League goals last season.
